Lapis lazuli is one of the September Birthstones, so these lapis stud earrings make a fabulous birthday gift either for a mother whose child is born in September or someone born in September themselves.
Ideal for the office, the cinema or a cocktail party. These statement blue lapis earrings are vibrant and fun, yet the rustic shine of the silver coupled with the ancient granulation technique adds a touch of class to a simple lightly textured form, creating a rough luxe vibe. They can be dressed up or down for any occasion!
These lapis lazuli earrings are inspired by ancient civilisations including those of Egypt and the Etruscans. The golden sarcophagus of King Tutankhamen was richly inlaid with Lapis, as were other burial ornaments of Egyptian kings and queens. It was used extensively in scarabs, pendants, and other jewellery, and ground into powder for dyes, eye shadow, and medicinal elixirs.
The round Lapis lazuli cabochon is carefully hammer set into the silver setting, giving these silver studs a rustic charm.
If you would like the earring posts positioned more centrally so that the stud sits higher up on your ear, please leave a note on your order.
Each pair of lapis and silver earrings or lapisand gold earrings are handcrafted with great care by me in my studio at Lyme Regis.

BRAND HISTORY AND ETHICS
The name Seraga comes from the name of my father, Serag, a Coptic Egyptian. He led me through the early part of the path that is my life, encouraging my talents to flourish and so it felt appropriate to name my company after him and the ancestry that has inspired me. In ancient Egypt, jewellery was of huge importance, as was gold and other riches. In particular, I love the ancient technique of granulation, where tiny balls of precious metal are added to the metal surface for decoration. Where possible, I try to combine the luxury of these ancient jewels with the wonder of the natural world, such as ancient English woodland and the beauty of the British seaside.
I believe in the time honoured tradition of my art, that is to make each item with love and the great care it merits. Every piece of jewellery is handmade in my small workshop by the coast in Lyme Regis, Dorset. No piece is exactly the same.
I put a lot of love into each piece I make and I hope you love your piece as much as I enjoyed making it.
With love from Lyme Regis.
